Culture
The area around Meseberg, Rheinsberg, and Neuruppin is is linked a name considered one of the most significant in German history. Frederick the Great spent his youth at Schloss Rheinsberg before becoming king. His brother Heinrich shaped Rheinsberg and imbued the place with a spirit of culture. Today, Meseberg is just a stone's throw away from numerous festivals, summer theaters, and other cultural highlights of Brandenburg. The Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg has established itself as an international emerging festival for opera singers. The Schlosstheater Rheinsberg and the Federal Music Academy host a variety of performances throughout the year, showcasing different musical and performing arts. In Netzeband, larger than life figures perform theater every summer. In the village of Wustrau, the namesake lake festival has proven to be a crowd puller. The Fontanestadt Neuruppin is home to numerous cultural events and hosts the Fontanefestspiele every two years. Mecklenburg also offers a wealth of culture, with wonderful concerts taking place in the Schlosspark Neustrelitz during the summer.

Nature
The enchanting beauty of Brandenburg can be vividly experienced, as Theodor Fontane aptly described. Traveling to Meseberg is a journey into a unique landscape of water and forests. You are a guest in the largest waterway in Europe. The Huwenowsee lies at your feet. A walk around it will quickly lead you to other lakes. The Havel is just a few kilometers away, and the legendary Stechlin should definitely be on your itinerary.
This is where the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park begins, home to numerous rare animal species. Observe ospreys during their hunt and encounter deer or hares on your walks.
Northern Brandenburg invites you to extensive hikes or cycling tours through the countryside and charming little villages. If you're looking for water, you have plenty of options: paddle a few kilometers along the Havel or use a water pedal boat, for example, on the Wutzsee, which is closed to motorboat traffic. Everything is possible, depending on your mood. Ask us, and we’ll gladly give you tips for your explorations.
